They have a chicken yard attached to their coop so we had to add a chicken door for them to get in and out of their yard and into the coop. all you do is cut a spot big enough for them to get in and out of with a sawzall. it is very simple. if you do not have a sawzall, then a regular hand saw should do the same thing.. The american style chicken coop. this pallet chicken coop plan can run up to 14 chickens at the same time. this also uses the deep litter method which requires only once-a-year cleaning. it is designed with dual doors so that daily access will be easy.. Since the pallet duck house build was a success, we decided to move our egg slaves into the yard this winter and build them a simple coop. the one thing missing in my opinion in a lot of pallet builds is insulating and outside finishes. so here is our version of a pallet chicken coop..
Our first chicken coop was functional, but left a lot to be desired. we learned a lot from our first little coop, and we put what we learned into our second, bigger pallet chicken coop. things we learned from the first coop, make a coop big enough to walk in, roosters are big, need a bigger door, and always plan you coop to get even more chickens.. A little tour of my diy chicken coop made out of pallets with no power tools for 50$. Another chicken coop made of pallets that you can possibly build for free. judy said that she saved about $1,000 in lumbers by using pallets. the difference between judy's plan and pallet palace is that judy disassembled it first before using the pallet for materials..
